Not laugh out loud funny, but wise, practical and inspiring. If everyone followed Nick's ten commandments I have a feeling the world would be a much better place.

Nick Offerman is no stand-up but I laughed my ass off the entire Seventy-eight minutes he was on stage. My face is still hurting. Offerman is more like a filthy, mustachioed woodland sprite who also makes furniture. Fans of Ron Swanson's wooden delivery and perverse, folksy wisdom will not be disappointed. I'd say Swanson is about 40% Offerman but he's much more complicated and they differ pretty strongly on their respective politics. I won't go into specifics other than to say that Nick's material focused on Hobbits and oral sex a lot more than I expected. A WHOLE lot more! Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, presenting his film at the Chicago Critics Film Festival, mentioned multiple times that Nick does not have a background in stand-up comedy. But like the best stand-ups, his humor is sincere and personal and not at all contrived. Whether you like the character Ron Swanson or the man Nick Offerman, you will laugh until you cry and will want to have a whiskey and a bowl with this guy.

Listened to this on the way back from seeing Offerman live for his Full Bush tour. Both were delightful, although the old couple that bailed at the beginning of his live show probably didn't agree.

Upon first watch I wasn't too happy with the difference this standup had in traditional stand-up formats. I however tried it again and loved it. This special is less story based and more just a gentle, warm hour of positivity. Also his recent australian tour was amazing too.
