Mona, a prisoner on work release, meets Clément, a shy actor. Desperate to impress Mona, Clément recruits his extroverted friend, Abel, to help. When Mona becomes more interested in Abel, it sets off a conflict between the two friends. Meanwhile, Mona attempts to keep her past hidden.

IMDB voters give this a 6.1; I'd say it's more like a 7.1. Script by Louis Garrel and Christophe Honore, it's one of those rare films about intense male friendship.

A beautifully pitched three-hander which weaves it's way gently through the story. Very well written and directed. There's no attempt to sensationalise the situation and the dynamics between the three characters are built up in carefully constructed layers.
